CCNY celebrates 50 years of Harlem Week at the Percy Sutton 5K

91ĸƵ celebrates the at the where Team CCNY will take on the streets and hills of Harlem on Aug. 10.

In partnership with the , Harlem Week began in 1974 and is an annual celebration of the best of Harlem taking place from Aug. 3-18. The events promote the neighborhood’s history in arts, culture, religion, entertainment and sports.

The 5K race honors the late Percy Sutton, who was the Manhattan borough president in the 1970s and who championed the New York City Marathon as a five-borough event.

Youth ages 2-18 are also invited to participate through Rising New York Road Runners, which offers free events that are designed to be fun and inclusive for children.
