Security Training

CUNY Cybersecurity Awareness Courses

CUNY provides separate cybersecurity awareness training for students and employees. The cybersecurity courses are updated to reflect current security threats and best practices, and should be completed annually to help protect personal information and University data, networks, and systems. Course completion rates, for both students and employees, are shared with CUNY and college leaders.

Students, faculty, and staff can log into Brightspace and find the latest cybersecurity awareness training course under the Compliance or Organization tab.

The latest CUNY cybersecurity awareness training course will always be available in Brightspace. Please remove any bookmarks or links to outdated CUNY cybersecurity awareness training courses in Blackboard or other websites.

CIS is advising the CUNY community, especially students, about the so-called “Secret Shopper” and “Gift Card” scams that many students have received.  More information on the scam is available at: How to Protect Yourself Against Secret Shopper, Personal Assistant, and other Online Scams!
